Lets say you want to have some pattern displayed within the bounds of a shape, as the blobs are to this rectangle. There are a number of ways you can do this in Inkscape, with crops and masks etc, but I’m going to show you a far more effective way that allows you to resize the shape, without having to worry about re-cropping the pattern.

Inspired by the paper faces of Eric Joisel I’ve had a go at making my own. I used cheep-o post office brown paper, which isn’t great for wet folding, but I’m pretty please with the results never-the-less.

Henk from microdot.be, has got in touch about his “Paper Craft Stress Test” series. He’s graciously selected my Tiger model to test it’s strength against the most fearsome of classical Greek elements FIRE! As you can see, it didn’t do too well.
